Toothache Remedies

Toothache Remedies

“A toothache” generally refers to pain around the teeth or jaws; toothache remedies are something I get asked about a lot. In most instances, toothaches are caused by tooth or jaw problems, such as a dental cavity, a cracked tooth, an exposed tooth root, gum disease, disease of the temporomandibular joint, or contractions of the muscles used for chewing. In addition, we all know that toothache can be more than just painful; they can lead to lost work and stress.

Recommended Essential Oils that are toothache remedies are: Black Pepper, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Clove Bud, Peppermint, and Pine

Aromatherapy Application- Apply a drop to the affected area with a cotton swab. Do not swallow.

Toothache Compress

1/4 cup clove buds.

Two cups of boiling water.

Pour the boiling water over the cloves and allow to steep for 20-30 minutes. Make as an infusion, not as a decoction; this may make the tea too intense for some.

Cotton balls.

Soak a cotton ball and place over the sore tooth. A cotton swab can be used to apply the tea directly.

You can use peppermint in the same way, and people who are sensitive to clove may benefit from this.

Lavender and Tea Tree Oil Compress for Toothache

4 drops Lavender essential oil

3 drops Tea Tree essential oil

1- drop Thyme essential oil

1-pint hand-hot water

Fill a bowl with water. Sprinkle oils on the water. Fold a piece of absorbent cloth (cotton or natural fabric is best) into several thicknesses. Dip a cloth into the water, collecting as much essential oil as possible in the fabric. Wring the cloth out to remove surplus water. Place the hot cloth over the swelling of a toothache to reduce pain and inflammation, and to draw out the toxic matter. Cover the compress with a section of plastic to prevent soaking clothes and bandages, if necessary. Because essential oils are being used, stop if any irritation occurs and use only a small drop.

In case of an abscess, you can use a warm compress until you can get to a dentist.

Another option.

Likewise, you can use 4 to 5 drops of Chamomile essential oil in case of an abscessed tooth. Additionally, a drop or two of these same essential oils may also be applied directly to the eruption or cavity with a swab. Similarly, you can use Lavender and peppermint tea as a rinse. Sometimes because it feels good some people will benefit from a warm infusion and others will like it cold.

Toothpaste for Fresh Breath

1/4 cup white cosmetic clay

1/2-cup vegetable glycerin

1/4-cup baking soda

20 drops tincture of Myrrh

8 drops Peppermint essential oil

8 drops Spearmint essential oil

Mix well and use like “regular” toothpaste.

Do not swallow the toothpaste.

Furthermore, you can also opt for adding less essential oil to the mixture.

Often with toothache remedies, toothaches can be managed for a few days to a week at home. Management is due to a gentle diet, herbals and limiting irritating foods that are loaded with sugar. As a result, people will often forget to worry about infection or other issues. If you develop a fever, streaking on the skin or experience intense pain, as a result, seek emergency dental care. Above all, make sure you are safe and taking care of yourself.
