To get a total, simply add up the weights/volumes of all the ingredients. After that, divide the total by the container's capacity. For example, if a lip balm recipe calls for 30g of ingredients, the finished product would be 30g of lip balm. Lip balm containers usually carry 4.5g of lip balm, so 30/4.5= 6.66, which means that with that formula, you'll fill just under 7 lip balm tubes. Using the same 30g formula would fill one 30g/1oz tin.
